As promised, rodeo week!
The week in between was spent racing about to school visits, radio interviews, and making sure everything was ready to roll.
I was so incredibly excited to share my rodeo not only with Rachelle, whom I had watched be crowned, but also Miss Rodeo California, Rachel, who I traveled with earlier in the year. Rachel hopped on Daddy’s girl, Mouse’s sister, Roo. Unfortunately it was her turn to have a speed bump as Roo was a bit flustered when her breastcollar broke. But both handled it like a pro.
In my element I bounced from one spot to the next, making sure miss Karissa was ready to roll and showing her the ropes. It was kinda fun to not always be in the spotlight, but serve my rodeo family instead.
On the final day, it was time for my final ride, true to her name Mighty Mouse was just that. We rocketed into the arena so hard, and so fast that every single person on the grounds (even the roughstock riders preparing in the chutes) stopped to cheer as we flew by. Solid as ever she came to a perfect stop in the center of the arena, and we waved goodbye to an amazing year. I’m not sure what the future holds next as a rodeo queen, but I have a pretty spectacular job waiting to start up, and I am incredibly blessed that I had the amazing year I did.
