Well I have been a little in communincado on the social media/blogging front while I figured my life out. Now I am happy to say I am back in the game! The rodeo game that is.

I’ve officially thrown my hat in for the Motherlode Roundup Rodeo Queen contest. For those of you that have followed me before, I ran for Motherlode last year and was first runner up, so this year after much deliberation (no seriously it was a tough call) I have decided to try again.

This past weekend I went up to the mountains to attend the kickoff weekend. It was a great time staying at the house of a close friend, trail riding, and of course rodeo queening.

We had our qualifying “pre ride” where I rode Ray, due to some truck troubles leaving Mouse stranded. Ray is just a total champ, he ran as fast as his little show horse legs could go (not very but its the thought that counts). However when it came to carrying a flag he let it be known that he was NOT having any of that.

Afterward I attended the kickoff social and got to dress all pretty. It was a ton of fun to see all my rodeo friends, some whom I haven’t seen since May. After that I started pounding the pavement selling tickets before I headed home.

Stay tuned for the next 4 months as I try another round and hopefully succeed this time! Oh if you feel the need to support me by buying tickets I have $15 raffle tickets for a $1000 cash prize and it’s tax deductible 😉
